hello i got a tattoo

im not kidding, i actually went and got a tattoo.

bc i love lelouch like 6ever (even 5ever isn't enough to describe my love for him), i got a tattoo of the geass sigil on the back of my left hand

17th (day of), 15 minutes after tattooing
like 6 hours after
about 4-5 days after

6 days after; no photos after this because it just fully healed by 2 weeks

i wanted to know where lelouch's code manifested, but i couldn't find any information lol. like, you know, how cc's code is on her forehead

i won't go into details on how much or why i love lelouch so much bc i might start sobbing BUT ok code geass is like, my number one favourite ever, and generally this making a perfect world thing is very interesting to me (more like it woke up my desire for world domination)

(i want to get a ライト tattoo next lol, for light, and also light as in 夜神月 and his perfect world domination thing again)

yeah anyway i always complain a lot about how the world isn't perfect so this is like, totally my thing

so: the tattooing business

  1. apparently hands and feet are some of the most painful areas to get a tattoo, bc the skin is thin and veins are close to the skin, or bc the bone is close to the skin, aka no muscle padding
  2. it wasn't really painful? the dude started from the area near my thumb and it was just like, oh, this is so chill... i was expecting something more
  3. bUT THEN he went to the other side, near my little finger, and i was like, OK now i feel the needles stabbing me fuck
  4. my hand wanted to twitch a lot but it was a short tattoo so nothing went wrong. it literally took all of 10 minutes
  5. when he was filling in the tattoo, it was an exercise in patience... don't get a large tattoo if you're not patient or if you don't like pain
anyway, i just got the tattoo like 3 hours ago. so the healing process so far:

  1. it got red at first, the area around the tattoo
  2. then it started feeling like ... you know, when you accidentally scald yourself and then rinse it in cold water BUT it still stings and feel weirdly cold and hot at the same time
  3. then it started oozing clear liquid. i mean, i know it's supposed to be clear, but mine was like... a little purple-red-ish... it's not problem unless it's oozing yellow/green aka infection colours
  4. i was told to rise with water after and hour, so i did. i rinsed off the oozing plasma. at this point it stopped feeling painful at all unless i stretched the skin around it
  5. at the 3 hour mark (right now), it's not red, not swollen. just a little bit raised, and a very slight pinkish border around the tattoo. feels weird if i flex the skin
  6. ++ 30 hours after: it's already scabbing, i can see a layer of skin on it. it looks dry and crinkles when i flex a bit. the area occasionally stings, but i think that's normal. there's still tiny barely-there pink border. i've been putting aloe vera on it, the nature republic one. um, it's getting a lil fuzzy at the edges... the stinging is really annoying.
  7. ++ 50 hours after: no more swelling/pink edges/sensitivity to touch. still hurts when i flex. oddly enough, it also no longer looks like it's scabbing or flaking... (also, i've noticed that i like to slide my hand under my pillow to sleep, it gives me a mini heart attack every time i try to sleep on my tattoo)
  8. ++4/5 days: distinct layer of dead skin on tattoo, not really flaking but crinkly like paper. the itching has set in and it's irritating. i don't really find myself wanting to scratch it, it's just irritating
  9. ++6 days: the flaking is starting, the itching continues. the flaking is more like, a whole layer of black just lifting off my hand. flaking seems like it'll be done in ~3 days or so
  10. ++7 days, or 2 weeks, it's all the same at this point.
it's totally... mundane. getting a tattoo is only an exciting process for like half an hour before the tattoo and half an hour after the tattoo.

also it doesn't really hurt, and there's no blood and not much swelling... it's not scary at all lol.

also, i got my hair done before i got my tattoo today. as you might expect, it's a totally shallow reason. i've wanted pink hair for a while but it's mainly because taiga got pink (really pink) hair a while back, so i thought "i have to match taiga wtf"

i just dyed over my original bleached highlights, so it wasn't exactly taiga-pink... but it's really pretty! it's like rose gold, and the colour changes SO MUCH in different lighting. so far it's looked red/brown/pink and even a little bit purple

hairdresser tried to style my hair, but im sorry my hair doesn't really hold any shape... it was straight-ish again by the time i walked out of the salon

i'm probably going to bleach my hair to death next time and try really unnatural colours lol. dear taiga-hair, i'll get there eventually

also mike and i messed around the national art gallery. i could probably make the photos prettier by adjusting the brightness and tilt, but what's the point? i don't have enough energy, y'all know what i'm like. it's amazing that i even took any photos

amount spent for today: $450~ (hair was 290, tattoo 100)
